Saturday Winter Warm Spell Sounds

We are deep into the winter season and we have a really warm and dry spell of weather that has people outside of the house doing outside chores and activities that we normally don't in the Winter so I have music too match.

I have setup sounds for the next several hours into the early evening with various genres. I will break in periodically however and make changes as I feel the vibe of what is coming.

You can of course continue as well to make requests during this time by clicking on the "Make Request and Dedications" link then sorting through the thousand of songs on the site and clicking the "Request" next to the song.

I'm wading in the beginning stages of setting loose a flow of mellow notes down the internet stream from my vantage point here in Sactown. Since this unusually warm and dry winter isn't providing any flows you can always come here and play in the notes.

In my previous post I mentioned that you can access the streams now with the following:

You can still access the streams with the above but you must type or paste that into a media player such as Winamp or VLC.

To access via a browser just to get the link up you would use the following format or also place in your media player of choice:

-          For 32kbps:

o   http://dhoytt.com:8000/listen.pls?sid=1

-          For 128kbps:

o   http://dhoytt.com:8000/listen.pls?sid=2

-          For 160kbps:

o   http://dhoytt.com:8000/listen.pls?sid=3

LISTEN LINKS

The Listen Links have been modified to work on my website as well just click the appropriate link and it will open up a file that will activate your preferred media player in your OS or it will give you the opportunity to delegate your favorite media player.

You may need to go into your browser and tell it how to handle the content type, I'll have more detailed information on this later.

Radio Stream Upgrade

Well all its time to upgrade the radio stream finally to Shoutcast DNAS version 2. There are some advantages to moving to the Shoutcast DNAS version 2 but the main one you will notice as listeners will be that instead of pointing to a different port for different bit rates for my stream you will point to just one port and then tell it what stream to listen for.

I have currently tested out the configuration already on my test server in private mode and everything seems to be working just great as far as the streaming goes. I now have to get the authorization key from Shoutcast to run this new stream publicly and have it listed from my test server and then I will be moving it to my live production server tonight. I will also have a few links to update on my web site and then everything will be set.

To connect to the new stream the format will be the following:

Feeling that old school feeling that I used to have when we used to hit the cruises with the beat ringing 5 blocks down the street with the touch of today mixed in with the sounds I used to kick on m metallic tapes back in the day when hip-hop began baby can't you just hear these sounds coming from my '69 Caprice, with four pair of 6x9's 4 10 inch speakers in the back with tweeters in the dash all set up in phase with three amps or my little Suzuki Jeep with the 12" woofers mids and huge tweeters!!!!

Ahh music to take me to bed all setup for the next several hours and no I will not be up for all of it but I have the music set from the '80's and sometimes past that age all the way to present just released songs.

Well I'm going to stretch get a glass of water and then tuck in with the music on low you can snuggle up with me pretty lady, yeah you right there.
