Listen With Embedded Web Player in MP3 Formatted Stream

Performing some test on the music stream to try and squeeze a few extras out!
In my previous post I mentioned that you can access the streams now with the following:
- http://dhoytt.com:8000/32kbps
- http://dhoytt.com:8000/128kbps
- http://dhoytt.com:8000/160kbps
- http://dhoytt.com:8000/320kbps
You can still access the streams with the above but you must type or paste that into a media player such as Winamp or VLC.
To access via a browser just to get the link up you would use the following format or also place in your media player of choice:
- For 32kbps:
o http://dhoytt.com:8000/listen.pls?sid=1
- For 128kbps:
o http://dhoytt.com:8000/listen.pls?sid=2
- For 160kbps:
o http://dhoytt.com:8000/listen.pls?sid=3
- For 320kbps:
o http://dhoytt.com:8000/listen.pls?sid=4
LISTEN LINKS
The Listen Links have been modified to work on my website as well just click the appropriate link and it will open up a file that will activate your preferred media player in your OS or it will give you the opportunity to delegate your favorite media player.
You may need to go into your browser and tell it how to handle the content type, I'll have more detailed information on this later.

The three embedded Flash Player Links at the top work just fine by clicking on the bit rate your choose to stream at.
Well all its time to upgrade the radio stream finally to
Shoutcast DNAS version 2. There are some advantages to moving to the Shoutcast
DNAS version 2 but the main one you will notice as listeners will be that
instead of pointing to a different port for different bit rates for my stream
you will point to just one port and then tell it what stream to listen for.
I have currently tested out the configuration already on my test server in
private mode and everything seems to be working just great as far as the
streaming goes. I now have to get the authorization key from Shoutcast to run
this new stream publicly and have it listed from my test server and then I will
be moving it to my live production server tonight. I will also have a few links
to update on my web site and then everything will be set.
To connect to the new stream the format will be the following:
- http://dhoytt.com:8000/32kbps
- http://dhoytt.com:8000/128kbps
- http://dhoytt.com:8000/160kbps
- http://dhoytt.com:8000/320kbps

I am replacing one of my main routers to the internet so there will be some brief interruptions as I place my newly configured router in place.
Well folks like I said it wouldn't take very long to get the software updated system rebooted and here we are updates and already played two songs.
I'm about to upgrade the music server streaming software and will be shutting down the music stream for a short span of time. Come back soon it shouldn't take more than 15 - 30 minutes if even that long.
Had to install some updates so decided to do some internal maintenance on the external rack that caused me to have to take down the music server for a brief moment

After being unable to sleep due to allergies tonight and then checking the station I found it was stuck and not playing music for a good part of Sunday. I first want to apologize for that if you were attempting to listen Sunday. I will however be installing soon some monitoring software that will alert me more quickly when something occurs like this. I was occupied with some rentals getting them ready and then attending a Super Bowl party and didn't monitor the station as I normally do. The application erred out after the OS experienced an error. As I mentioned before I have been reviewing monitoring software lately that will monitor this events such as this and report to me no matter where I am located and I will then be able to login from anywhere and correct the issues. I will be updating several items in the infrastructure soon so stay tuned! This specific issue affected only the music stream.
I took this time to update the streaming software once again which improved some database calls and reporting and there will be some updated web pages due to changes in PHP files with the software so once again stay tuned! I am never standing still and the "House of Beats" Internet streaming station has been updating and improving consistently since 2004 and will continue moving forward!
One of my internal core switches on one of my networks went out overnight and I had to replace it this morning. This caused an outage for a while in areas of the site, including the radios stream the "House of Beats". Everything is up an running as it has been since 2004 once again!
