Updates of Blogs & Systems

By Darryl Hoytt on September 19, 2004 11:29 PM | 0 Comments | 0 TrackBacks

Concerning updates to the blog I may not do them everyday as I have been. I was doing the blog updates everyday because I wanted to see how the software was reacting.

I will also be updating my systems especially my main system that I use everyday. I will also increase the storage on my music server and move another disk over to my backup music server and take a disk from that system to add to storage on my main system.

I have not upgraded my main system in a long time. Besides updating the storage I will also be updating my All-In-Wonder 7200 AGP 32mb. I will move to the All-In-Wonder 9800 Pro AGP 128mb. I will also update motherboard and CPU but have not decided to what. Along with this I will be placing this system back in a larger case as I had before to adequately hold my 6 sca SCSI hard drives, Plextor SCSI CDROM, Plextor CDRW, DVD reader, DVDRW, Adaptec 29160, NCR SCSI, Creative Labs Audigy, and 100bt LAN. I will keep the DLT, scanner and printer external, of course.

I really need to do this since I need the speed to finish projects faster and need the storage for the same reason. The current case for my main system is smaller than I had before and I never intended to stick with it this long. The air flow because of the amount of hard drives I have is not sufficient. Currently I have my case open which has been the case with me for over a decade and a house fan blowing into the case to keep the temps down. With this new case I will be able to place several large computer fans directly into the problem areas inside of the case. I will also cut down on hard drives by getting a few larger sized hard drives. Since I always go for performance with near the latest SCSI hard drive technology this will be a cost.

Anyway I need to do this so I will not have this in the back of my mind and I can work my other projects without tip-toeing around my systems.

I always go for piece of mind first as that frees you to tackle other issues. I have quite a few and am about to start swinging at them like Barry Bonds selectively but efficiently.

12k Chevy's Run

By Darryl Hoytt on September 18, 2004 11:27 PM | 0 Comments | 0 TrackBacks

I ran in the 12k Chevy’s fun run today. I will try to get some pics from there on the site later. I had a decent run considering I had not been to steady with my workouts the past month and a half.

Chevy's Fun Run Tomorrow

By Darryl Hoytt on September 17, 2004 10:56 PM | 0 Comments | 0 TrackBacks

Tomorrow morning I’m going to run in the Chevy's fun run. I will not do as well as I wanted since I had to cut my runs short and didn't get enough in last month or this month. Oh well it’s the beginning of the fun run season where 10k's & 5k's are plentiful.

This year they have a new course for the 12k which I will be running. You can check the Chevy's course and other items on these sites:

Pumping Weights As Public Enemy "..Bum Rush Show"

By Darryl Hoytt on September 14, 2004 9:08 PM | 0 Comments | 0 TrackBacks

Pumping weights and listening to Public Enemy's first album "Yo Bum Rush The Show"!! Finally digitized!
I used to hit the cruise with this bumpin' in my '69 Impala and later my Jeep along with my other metallic tapes full of what’s now considered pioneering hip-hop, not just "Old School" baby!! This was of course, just a little before CD's. You could hear me 6 blocks away back in the day anyway back to the garage to pump my weights!!

Undefeated For Fantasy Football Start. Rams Win!

By Darryl Hoytt on September 13, 2004 9:57 PM | 0 Comments | 0 TrackBacks

In my three Fantasy Football leagues I am 3-0-1, yes one untimely pass to a receiver Monday night tied me up in one league. Well at least he didn't get a bit more yardage and beat me. Well better look tomorrow to see if there are any stat corrections.

In three leagues it came down to the Monday night game!! In one league I was way out in front and my opponent didn't have any more players Monday night.

In the league where I'm the commissioner I had to have Ahman Green have a big night and Carolina not to kick any field goals for my opponent, and this all happened!

The fact that Carolina fell behind and had to abandon the run helped in another League I was hanging on in. My opponent had Stephen Davis the Carolina running back and had to throw the ball, plus Green Bay stacked the line and blitzed like crazy!

Now my favorite NFL team the Rams played well but made too many mistakes and barely beat the Cardinals. The Rams turnovers made the Cardinals look good even though the Rams ran up and down the field all day!

LET'S GO RAMS!!!!

Nice Saturday Morning Run

By Darryl Hoytt on September 12, 2004 12:20 AM | 0 Comments | 0 TrackBacks

I had a nice eight mile run this morning before it got really hot. I didn't get much sleep the night before though being up until 2:30 AM working on things.

Tonight I will get an early night in at least for myself at least by 1am maybe ;).

NFLFootball Season Kickoff, Fantasy Football Kickoff

By Darryl Hoytt on September 9, 2004 9:40 PM | 0 Comments | 0 TrackBacks

What a great game to kick off the NFL season, very competitive and down to the wire! New England and Indianaplois would be an even better rivalry if Indianapolis wcould get a win in there.

I had a few fantasy football players that participated in one of my leagues tonight.

This year all of the Fantasy Football leagues I participate in are the Yahoo Fantasy Football leagues. Yahoo seesm to do the best as far as kepping you informed up to the date what the score is and also the flexibility to change players up to five minutes before a game starts. Far more flexible and informittive than some of the other fantasy leagues I have played in.

SELECTING AN ATTORNEY: BUYER BEWARE!

By Darryl Hoytt on September 6, 2004 4:30 PM | 0 Comments | 0 TrackBacks

Some information gleaned fron the following website please check the other links on his site:

http://www.geocities.com/dansegypsy/police.htm

SELECTING AN ATTORNEY: BUYER BEWARE!
Be careful who you hire as an attorney! Too many local lawyers are buddies with the local District Attorney or State’s Attorney! These lawyers will urge an innocent person to “plea down” to avoid jail time. In fact they are afraid of making waves with the courts and judges, whom are lawyers too. It might mess up their economic niche! It saves a lawyer having to really work for a living, and makes for a nice lifestyle too. I know of people paying $5000 to $20,000, just to plea down to something they never did. The next time that person is charged, investigated or arrested, they have a record which any cop can look up on the computer; in many cases right from the car computer. To a bad cop any prior police or court history means “guilt,” and you can count on jail time the next “go-round.”
Call the American Civil Liberties Union {ACLU} listed in many telephone directories. They know of real lawyers who still care about false arrest and false imprisonment. Also contact The Innocence Project at http://www.innocenceproject.org for help in getting a good attorney.
Too many lawyers are overpriced scam artists who will sell you out and cut you a “deal” before they really hear your side. Courts and lawyers today in too many cases have lost the concept of actual innocence, seeking to operate “assemblyline justice” on a utilitarian basis for their advantage. Many District Attorney’s and State’s Attorneys will also back up rogue cops over an innocent person because it is one big happy clubhouse up there. I have seen this widespread problem here in Connecticut. One arrest on your record can ruin your professional, vocational and social life forever! Once the name and story hits the papers, this ruins a person, even if finally found not guilty. Police departments and courts take away far more then is ever repaid in damages to innocent victims of judicial miscarriage. Most people never collect a dime because the system is stacked against the innocent person.
In many cases you are far better off with a more expensive lawyer from out of the county or area that will really do their job. There are a number of good lawyers out there; it is well worth taking the time to look and see. Just as your mother taught you not to take candy from strangers, don’t think the courts are fair and model the justice our founding fathers intended. The garments of lady justice are soiled with the dirt of corrupt cops, lawyers, and judges, as well as the blood of the innocent.

Simple Sunday

By Darryl Hoytt on September 5, 2004 10:30 PM | 0 Comments | 0 TrackBacks

I was up late last night so I actually slept past 10 AM which is very unusual for me usually once the sun comes up so do I. I have to blame it on the allergy medicine as well that I took right before I went to bed @ 3:30 AM.

Today just did yard work and got the pool in shape and some other chores around the house.

Calironia State Fair

By Darryl Hoytt on September 4, 2004 11:18 PM | 0 Comments | 0 TrackBacks

I went to the California State Fair today. I finally got to see the pig races I have always heard about. Pretty funny they also had goat races. One of the goats jumped the rail and took a shortcut across the field of the little track they had, I think the goat was cheating. All this was very cool.
The fair closed early today at 9pm when it normally shuts down at 11pm. the reason for this as some friends found when they asked security was that they felt that since black culture day had been canceled in favor of multi-culture day that people would riot!! My friends thought this was very small minded of the organizers to bend to this level of thinking, my friends were a mix, Caucasian, Asian and Hispanic. I think it’s typical from my recent court experiences and my general experiences of life.

Walking back to go home they had groups of riot police in the malls and around the fair. I even passed one group of police officers who were holed up in the fire department say let's get out the street we are supposed to be out of site of the public. They even had some community chaplain at the main entrance what BS. Nobody actually appeared to be concerned with anyone's well being in the real sense, what I saw was veiled posturing these people are so stilted in their perceptions and ability to think beyond their preconceived ideas.

There are some very ignorant people in life and a lot of them are educated. Knowledge is one thing but application of knowledge and wisdom seem in very short supply. Intelligence beyond the basics is the ability to think and function in the unfamiliar and figure the unfamiliar plus the application of your knowledge correctly.

Most people I found in the legal system don't do this well. Sadly most cannot see past their nose. They have procedure and nice sounding words but this seems to occupy the mental space of logic and wisdom. The worst part is people we let them. I always hear, "well I don't know who is right". All you have to do is ask the simple questions this is why we are supposed to rely on facts not emotional irrational appeals. Hitler ruled because of his appeal to these irrational emotions, blind patriotism, and divisiveness, people didn't know who to believe and he came to power. People have to understand you do not have to be a leader of a country to perform atrocities or take away peoples rights you just have to get people to think and not act because they don't use logic of facts in front of them and "they don't know who to believe".

Peace!!

Oh pictures of stuffed animals from the fair:

Final Fantasy Football Draft Preparation

By Darryl Hoytt on September 3, 2004 11:20 PM | 0 Comments | 0 TrackBacks

Tomorrow morning is the final draft of this year’s football season for me! I am in 4 leagues this year. Tomorrows draft is an online league in the Yahoo Fantasy Football Customized League I am the commissioner.

We call it the BDFL (Big Dogs Football League)! This league is heavily customized! Check out the positions and stats. With only 4 bench (BN) players and the fact that we use individual defensive players, 2 active kicker & quarterback positions with the bye weeks if you don't make moves every week you will lose! No sitting on your roster in this league you must adjust every week!! Plus we have two optional positions one (WR/TE) you can use either a "wide receiver" or a "tight-end” the other active optional position (WR/RB) you can use for a "wide receiver" or a "running back".

This line-up forces some tough choices during the year when several players on your roster are on a bye and you don't have bench players to cover those positions. Either you waive them or hold on and play with empty roster spots!!

LET'S PLAY BALL!!!
