I try to stay away from cliché’s but today’s events prompted me to remember this, I wish others would practice this. Why do people think they can snow you with a flurry of nothingness at the end! Had they did their job from the start this attempted snow job would not be necessary!

Had my ears just totally plugged probably from a combination of swimming and allergies. Had a radiating pain coming out both ear canals! Had them give me some prescription Saturday but that made me drowsy had no affect on the condition and unable to do much Sunday. Today went back to the doctor and what they gave me finally started to kick in late> I also did not work but just rested. I didn't even feel like reading as I normally do when feeling like this.

I think I need out of Sactown with all the allergens and plus just need to roll anyway!

I did some opening Olympic Ceremonies pictures and here are some from the closing ceremonies. I think the openning pictures were classic and historic, while the closing ceremony pictures pose more of a modern theme.

Just ran errands today setting things up to finalize later.

We are back tickling the 100 degrees mark for the day and its a nice warm night with a slight breeze, the kind I enjoy.

I'm going to go back outside on the patio watch the pool lights change colors and enjoy the night with some chilled gin and/or gin martini.

From a few weeks ago just chillin', wow I forgot to call....oops!

Why do people who are incompetent and weak minded think that others are afflicted with the same issues and feel others will respond as they will? They try pop psychology and are so far off based its laughable! They never just can do their job better and elevate their work but try to bring you to their level or distract. DAMNED I hate incompetents!!

They also think that just because you are not bitching moaning or complaining that you have it easy. S#$T anyone can make something look difficult true talent and preparation makes things look easy.

Just like people who think that just because you can use Excel or Word you can program or work in IT! They never consider what makes things tick even making the mouse move takes a book of instructions if printed out but people in this category don't realize this.

Oh this is concerning a side venture, in case you are wondering ;)

Well I did some more testing of streaming audio from my music server and updating my website. I now have broadband 128k and low band 32kb audio streams and will update my website with the links this week some time. Yes you with modems will soon be able to listen to my streamed audio/radio station.

I am also looking to update the website with a list of songs that have played the past 24 hours or some portion of that. I would like a file that does some circular logging. I actually have a few ideas since my website resides on a Linux system. One issue is that my music server is a totally different system and on a Windows platform. Right now I have a method to update my web server about what my music server is currently playing. My web server displays my music servers currently playing songs and provides a link to the music I'm streaming to the internet.

I am also looking into a way to stream to multiple audio/media players so that multiple platforms can listen in on the tunes. I have found a method to listen via Winamp and other media players but will try and automate the process so it will be a click away. I actually found a way to listen in Linux and UNIX but need to automate that for users.

I have so much else going on I rarely have time to work on the music server or web server! I haven't even talked about updating the blog software and adding more functionality there, plus adding another blog for music! Remember I am not on a hosted Blog site I run my own blog server software!

All this is run from my little old computer/audio room, which reminds me that I am also investigating and have found some different ways to have live microphone and other type inputs over the internet in my audio string as well!

I do this for fun and the learning experience of what you must know to do these things technically. This is why I host as much as possible all my servers within the walls of my house and maintain it all

Well we will see how this all goes so much going on and so much to do!!

What can I say the dog may be trying to come back out baby! Trying to keep the dog from flipping that "P" everyday like it used to, but its so hard!!

LOL ....just playing ....or am I?

After staying up till 4am watching the Olympics got up at 9am and started doing things around the house.

Went over my parents and showed my pressure washed concrete for my dad or tried everyone had to take a turn and left with my dad to play with later.

He made some tasty black eyed peas, greens (collard, mustard & turnip with okra), crackled cornbread, and potato salad and neck bones. Damned that was good!!! I know where I'm going for lunch and dinner this week!

Then had to come back and battle the worms going around the internet in the computer world. I updated viruses and patches for my windows systems. I also closed up some ports I had opened in my routers.

I had a new system I brought online that I had not uncharacteristically had not updated any patches on or placed virus software on, usually the first application I install on a windows system! Oh well getting it taken care of!

I had to clear tree branches from above my garden coming in from a yard behind me because the branches were throwing my produce in shadows too much of the day. Hopefully I did it in time to restore some of the luster to my vegetables.

My strawberries never had a problem since they were on the edge unaffected by the branches. The okra looks good, tomatoes started strong but didn’t reach full size I like and without the sun never reached that full red ripe stage now they will along with my peppers, squash, pumpkins, cucumbers etc.

Now I will plant some late season vegetables as well plus start a treatment of plant food. I also reset the water timer to water longer twice a day because of the hot Sacramento summers. And soaked the ground to saturate the garden to fully hold the water and now the automatic timer will keep the ground moist and not dry and cracked.

That was my Saturday plus some minor work on the audio/computer room until I realized I was tired.

Today was my first Fantasy Football draft of the year. I like to draft a little closer to the actual season in case of injury player movement and all those elements are a bit clearer the weekend before the season starts.

I think I have a good solid team with the potential for lowing opponents out the box depending on lineups.

Let's PLAY BALL!!!

The Olympics are interesting they are on more channels at this year. I watch as many events as possible. They all put in time and work to represent the country and plus I like seeing competition where people give their best.

Football is around the corner and my first Fantasy Football draft in one of my many leagues is tomorrow. This particular league I did not participate in last year because of the inadequacies of the website they had hosting it and the inflexibility of the rules. This year its hosted on Yahoo who seems to do the best with Fantasy sports. You can customize the league to whatever standards you want and if changes are made the whole league is informed. No behind the scenes shanigans even by the commissioner, once rules are setup the website takes care of it all!!

All my Fantasy football leagues this year are on Yahoo including the one I’m the commissioner of. Each league is unique with its own set of rules, very cool. Well the public leagues have the default setups.

What can I say? Allergies, heat and no sleep caused me to drag most of the day.

I am trying to add more streams to my webcasct for low and high bandwidth users. Once I do that then I will tighten up the play lists and maybe even offer multiple genre music streams. As I always will do the technical portion first then the aesthetics later.

I just have too many other necessary things to do to keep a steady flow working on this website, blog and streaming audio.

You will see large amounts of time before I do anything to any of the elements on this website and then a flurry of activity. I have too many projects whose timing precedes what I'm doing here. Then I have to re-learn what I was doing here and where I left off. I will get there in fits and spurts as I have time.

After work today just kinda chilled and grilled some Italian sausages, bratwurst & Hot links, I know what a combination. Did that and lounged in the pool after cleaning the pump.

Back to normal August temperatures above 95 degrees for a high.

Nothing too special just continuing to do my thang even on Mondays! ;)

I moved my 6 foot rack with some audio equipment into my computer/audio room. Now I have my 7 foot rack with several systems plus my 6 foot rack and a table of DJ equipment in the room. I will start integrating everything even more than I have currently. Now I have a more permanent spot for my turntables and mixers, I just have to patch the input back into my audio computer systems and make sure I have all audio computers set to output to all my external audio functions in all rooms. Then I will build in the flexibility to listen independently from one source and amplify each room separately. The trick is to do it with minimum of wiring & dollars so you cannot notice the technology except in my "multimedia" room.

I had the wireless audio thing going today as well from room to room which seemed like a great idea until I turned the microwave on. It’s hard to place shielding around wireless signals. I'm going to have to see if there's a device out there on a different frequency than the microwave or a way to wrap the audio in a higher signal that the FCC approves and won't screw with for home use.

Always have to consider the little things.

Wow I have never ran into so many Bachelorette parties in one night in Sactown! Some were getting really nasty on the dance floor but before we could get to the next level there was this one that was blocking. She was beautiful on her own but she wanted to be woman and man. Get her in the grind and she was cool with that but get one of her girls in the mix and she was mother hen! Man they were lowering the brassiere and touching nipples on the dance floor it was off the hook but jealousy of one beautiful lady who wanted to be loved by the guys and ladies blocked the show….awww what sweet music it would have been. All me and my buddy did was to go out for hamburgers and then what an adventure with 6 different Bachelorette parties!!!

The Olympic opening ceremonies were extremely stylish and artistic. I just wanted to share a few pics in case you missed them courtesy of NBC.

I once again have to resort to late night work outs or none at all. I pick the late night work outs! My body was talking to me letting me know I should not be missing too many days regardless of my schedule!

My elbow is making clicking noises more than ever. My elbow giving out was a reason I gave up bench presses approximately 15 years ago when it totally gave out. I guess I should go to the doctor to see if there is something floating around in the elbow before I really start pressing weight like I used to.

The good thing about lifting in my garage is I get to listen to my music from my site @ http://www.dhoytt.com/whatson.html and get to raid my kitchen for healthy snacks ;).

Why do you have to tell so called professionals take so many shorts fail to work hard smart or think their BS is believed?

You take my money be prepared to work and earn your money! I don't take shorts and I don't expect anyone who calls themselves a professional to have to be told to do their job. You have to be told what to do you are just a worker and not a true professional I don't care what your line of work or career.

I always give people leeway that way I can determine a lot about a person. Even if you tell them what you are doing it doesn't matter they reveal themselves to be lazy weak minded or strong with character resourcefulness. You just have to know what to look for it’s revealed in even very minor ways. I always give them a chance to work out of it but most don't know how even when given the chance.

Now back to the mundane and not so vague. I had ants move in literally carrying their little unborn and all trying to escape the heat and water. Time to do the every few month spray around the perimeter of the house

I am still getting rid of things out of the house and it’s constantly taking shape while my designated activity areas of the house are taking shape many times over. This is like a constantly morphing organism.

Why does it seem as I go along I run into more people who are incompetent and fearful of BS? The sad thing is that this behavior is accepted and condoned, people are so used to making excuses for their poor behavior and incompetence its become accepted. Then on the fear tip people fear what will happen if they lose this job or if people think of them in this manner when it freaking doesn't matter in most cases!

Then people will carry out some elaborate façade when their incompetence is brought to attention instead of correcting the issue like a strong person of character will do as if no one can tell.

First let's define incompetence. Incompetence to me is a desired state based on the fact that the incompetent person instead of correcting the issues that typical human imperfection may have caused lack the growth of person and character blame someone else or pretend it didn't happen. You see this all the time in politics, all sides of legal issues, corporations, government, personal relationships, entertainment, basically all phases of life. People want to belong so bad they are concerned with image more than reality. This has become a basic way of doing business and conducting legal and personal issues.

I'm not talking about typical imperfect human behavior I'm talking about people who are more concerned about image even when they are wrong. They think their thinking is sophisticated and people who don't believe like they are don't understand or are naive when they are the ones playing themselves. People press their values on you or what their narrow minds believe your values are and they are so far off in my case in most cases I don't even give them conversation on their points since they are so off based.

This incompetence breeds fear. People fear portraying an image that is unpopular they compromise themselves about minor issues everyday and don't realize it.
I make decent money so what if when I go out I people think I'm poor hell with all the bills maybe I am poor. Yet some people will pour their last dime into clothes, cars so people that have no influence on their lives will think they are the S@$%t. People believe if they dress a certain way people will respect them and that’s true but who are the people giving the respect? Maybe that’s the California west coast in me. I like dressing up and there are occasions to do that but some people take it too far.

Anyway just some stuff to think about take it for what you like but history will look at this time period and will not be favorable. Sure we have more technology than ever before but 100 years ago was the height of the technology ever seen in the world. When they had the witch hunts in Salem they never envisioned that there would be a time when people would be more technically advanced or enlightened.

Even if anyone reads this whole thing only a few who know me will understand the concept, you have to go deeper than the words. Only a few people who know me understand what I mean by that. When you talk with me if you rely on standard thoughts & cliché’s and don't concentrate on the actual thoughts expressed you will be lost.

Cool enough I will keep most things on the shallow tip for ya from here out.

Finishing up tasks after work I intended to do Sunday but did not because of events and being in a fog.

Things are starting to take shape just have to keep pushing on.

It seems that these entries do not increase the size of the MYSQL database on my Linux system to much. I guess when you consider they are really small text files I’m creating and storing its not surprising. I will start putting more images up and see how that does.

I will be making changes to the overall site soon so keep a watch out. As other home projects finish and settle down I will be able to sit down for longer periods to accomplish things on the website and with the music web server.

I still would like to change how I stream music or perhaps place another point out there where the audio stream can be picked up using even the same programs! I need a way that people on all platforms of Operating Systems can easily listen and retain or increase my current flexibility. We will see once I have time!

I was slowed down today because of the previous night then couple that with temperatures climbing back to normal around @ a high of 99 degrees, took me a while to get myself together.

Did go to a coed baby shower and that was a curious event. Shoot I have to get some things done still tonight, I'm out!

Saturday and just kinda chillin' b,day party and you know a few drinks and spittin' at the shorties. A bit on the F’d up side right now.

I had a busy day at work and then some more rearranging after work.

Finally I’m getting my computer/audio room setup so that my computer functions and audio/DJ type functions are basically in the same room. I wanted ample space to do both and finally I'm on the way to achieve that.

I will also once again integrate my computers with my external mixers, turntables, etc. Then I can continue recording my LP's to computer thus digitizing them. I can also pipe music from my computer to all my external sources. This will be so nice but this time I'm going to have a better patch panel setup so I can easily go back and forth between sources.

While I'm doing this I'm continuing my trend of downsizing to obtain a minimally cluttered living space.

Had a nice long day today that is just starting to wind down.

Did the running thing at lunch and finished of course but it was a tough mental run the whole 6 miles from start to finish. Had the normal things to deal with and then this new sensation from my new shorts riding up strange in the groin area...kinda tickled. Once I out ran that strange sensation I tripped over this root sticking up from a tree not quite at the half way point. I caught myself on my hands in some gravel but since I run with my lifting gloves on my hands I did not get scratched up. Plus my legs or knees never hit the ground. I ended up in a position like I was doing the crab walk like you do for football practice and slid a while. This isn’t our normal hot August at 100 plus degrees but was 86 degrees and getting a little warmer without much shade and the heat was radiating off the pavement but I used every mental trick I had to finish. I never should have let myself get this far out of shape I told myself as I ran.

The chef fixed me some more "Gourmet Chicken Wings".

I have to buy some gifts for events this weekend and then I'm set ....I think.

Today did my 8 mile run I neglected on the weekend because of allergies and other things I had to accomplish over the weekend. Felt real good and shaved almost 2 minutes off the previous run at that distance. Another 5 - 6 minutes off that time and then I can start feeling real good and really star pressing the issue!

Westside all day baby, what did I do? After a night with some sleep ahhhh, well the amp is slumping out beats again. Still need a better equalizer but its still on hit.

Been trying to get my stuff together to make chili since Friday and finally had the time but still everything was all over the place. I really need to go through the main cupboard in the kitchen after I do the rest of the house things were all over the place!

Made too much for one crock pot so combined in a large stock pot to keep ingredients together, perfect the taste and then transferred the contents to two separate crock pots for a slow simmer to really sink the flavor in! I think the chili will be on hit just have to see what others say about it.

Once again my alarm went off in the late night, which is late Monday morning and I did not get a good sleep to go along with not getting any sleep over the weekend.

I picked up a replacement fridge that's larger with ice & water to replace my current fridge with just ice in the door.

I troubleshot my large 1000 watt amp that drives my big DJ speakers that can break out the glass in my windows if I'm not careful. Looks promising will pick up the parts tomorrow and pretty sure that I will have it humping the beats full blast once again. I need to break down and get two more UPS for my equipment.

Damned even when I'm lethargic I'm handling some biz baby!!
